Lessor: “I wanted to protect myself and my dignity against repeated challenges”

Matias Lesor made public his apology, after the serious incident with Filip Petrusev, in Partizan’s derby with Red Star.
Matias Lessor received a lot of criticism and was punished by his team, Partizan , for what happened in the final of the derby between the “black and white” and Red Star.

The “red and whites” asked the ABA Liga to suspend Lesor until the end of the season, but Partizan caught up with the league, punishing their player according to the internal regulations.

” I want to apologize to the fans and the people who support us and those who love the sport and showed me a lot of love and respect to my teammates, the coaching staff and the organization for the way I reacted and showed a bad image of me and the team me ,” Lessor said in his apology.

And he continued by emphasizing among other things: ” I want to emphasize that for the first time in the nine years that I have been playing professional basketball, I have found myself in the middle of such an event, unlike a person who has a history of participating in such chaotic situations. I felt the need to protect myself and my dignity in the face of countless challenges and after the other athlete hit me in the 4th period. Not that loud, but it was enough to take my breath away. If it was just words, I wouldn’t react like that .’
