Milan in continued league lead – beat Cagliari

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his Milan step into the national team break in continued league lead in Serie A.

It was a 1-0 victory in the away meeting with Cagliari.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was given a chance to change things around. He was substituted in the 87th minute in the pouring rain in Sardinia.

By then, Milan’s winning goal had been scored just under half an hour earlier. Ismael Bennacer struck with a left-footed volley following a cross from the right wing.

Now the national team gathering for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the World Cup qualifier off at home against the Czech Republic awaits at Friends arena on Thursday.

Milan enters the national team break with a three-point lead before second-placed Napoli and third and local rival Inter are a full six points behind after only 1-1 at home against Fiorentina. However, Inter have played one game less than Milan and Napoli.
