Milan up in the league lead – Zlatan back

Milan has taken over the league lead in Serie A football. On Sunday, they took a heavy 1-0 victory away against top rival Napoli.

The injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic was included in Milan’s match squad for the first time since January 23, and it was certainly a short break for the Swede.

The 40-year-old star was substituted in the 90th minute, but by then attacking colleague Olivier Giroud had already made sure to put Milan in the winning position.

The Frenchman stood in the right place at the right time and steered in a misdirected shot in the 49th minute. That would prove to be the decisive goal.

The three-pointer means that Milan steps past local rival Inter and takes over first place, but Inter has continued one match less played.

At the same time, Ibrahimovic & co has now gained a lead of three points over table three Napoli.
