FC Barcelona’s football team welcomes Roma, from José Mourinho, on August 6, for the Joan Gamper trophy, the Spanish club said today on its official website.
As in the 2021 edition, then against Juventus, the trophy will have a double commitment, with the Barça team playing Roma from 21:00 local time (20:00 in Lisbon) in men’s, after the game between the women’s teams of the two clubs (16:30 in Lisbon).
In men’s, it will be the second time that Roma have contested the Joan Gamper trophy, which has been held since 1966 and honors the club’s founder, after the Italian team competed in the 2015 edition, in which they lost 3-0.
This year’s edition represents a return of José Mourinho to Camp Nou, after a last presence in 2013, then as Real Madrid coach, although the coach also has a connection to ‘Barça’, in the time he was assistant to Bobby Robson , between 1996 and 2000.
