Feyenoord is investigating a rental deal with Manchester City in the final days of the transfer market

Feyenoord is investigating the possibilities of attracting Philippe Sandler in the last days of the winter transfer period, Algemeen Dagblad reported on Saturday evening. According to 1908 , technical director Frank Arnesen is aiming for a rental deal with Manchester City, which Sandler kept at Troyes in the first half of this season.

The 24-year-old Sandler barely made minutes in the service of Troyes. He participated in two league matches in September, but was never part of the match selection again after that. The lease was canceled last week. Sandler has a contract with Manchester City until next summer. Because he does not have to count on playing time from Pep Guardiola, a new rental period seems obvious.

Sandler made the switch from PEC Zwolle to Manchester City in 2018. In his first season, the defender made appearances in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup. A knee injury played tricks on him and that also happened when Sandler was loaned out to Anderlecht in the 2019/20 season, which required surgery. He returned to Manchester City in the summer of 2020, but it soon turned out that he needed surgery on the ankle due to damage to the inner and outer tube.

According to Algemeen Dagblad , the arrival of Sandler at Feyenoord could herald the departure of Ramon Hendriks. Sparta Rotterdam would keep an eye on those developments; 1908 reports that several Eredivisie clubs are in the running for the defender. Feyenoord and Hendriks would like to see him rented out and extend his contract. Last season Hendriks already played for NAC Breda on a rental basis.
