Gedson Fernandes is excited to represent Besiktas
The Portuguese international midfielder Gedson Fernandes was made official today at Besiktas, after having spent the second half of the season at Rizespor, both in the Turkish League, showing that he is «enthusiastic to make the fans happy
The transfer confirmation had already taken place in February by Benfica and the Istanbul emblem, but until the end of the season the midfielder represented Rizespor on loan, relegated to the second tier.
“I’m feeling really good. It’s been a while since I wanted to come here and now I’m finally here. I just want to enjoy and I’m here to help the team and make the fans happy”, expressed the Portuguese international from 23 years, to the club’s communication channels.
Gedson, who in Turkey has also worn the ‘colors’ of Galatasaray, wants to see “the fans convey their usual support to the team in training and in the stadium”.
The Portuguese midfielder had his best season at Benfica in 2018/19, in which he scored 46 games and three goals for the main team, led first by Rui Vitória and then by Bruno Lage, at a time when the ‘incarnates’ won the national title.
