Right-back Calvin Ramsay has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, who signed him from Aberdeen, the English football team announced today.

Ramsay, 18, is expected to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, the regular starting right-back for the Reds, playing the role until now of Joe Gomez, their original centre-back.

A Scottish under-21 international, Ramsay made his debut for the Aberdeen first team in March 2021, playing 39 games in the Scottish league, in which he provided nine assists and scored one goal.

Ramsay is Liverpool’s third signing this season, following the arrivals of Uruguayan Darwin Nunez, from Benfica, and Portuguese youth international Fábio Carvalho (ex-Fulham).
