Daniel Alves will not continue to play for Barcelona
Brazilian international player Dani Alves said today that he will not continue to play for FC Barcelona next season, after more than eight years linked to the Catalans.
“Now, it’s time for our farewell. It was more than eight years dedicated to this club, to these colors and to this house. But as with everything in life, the years pass, the paths deviate and the stories are written in different places”, he wrote, on the social network Instagram.
The 39-year-old Brazilian veteran returned to ‘Barça’ last season “to be able to say goodbye” and help the club at a time when it was practically impossible to sign players.
There were 17 games and one goal on his return, after a first spell between 2008 and 2016, with 23 titles, including three Champions Leagues, having played in the middle at Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and São Paulo.
All in all, there are 408 games for the ‘culés’, for which he lived “a very beautiful cycle”, even though the player, released in Bahia and debuted in Europe by Sevilla, guarantees that “even at 39 years old” he remains “a very crazy lion ”, leaving open the possibility of continuing to play football by promising “an even more challenging cycle”.
